Our story
Neil and I first discovered Naxos in the 1980s, back when the island was a hidden gem, untouched by the tourist crowds. Over the years, we returned again and again, bringing our children, friends, and celebrating significant milestones with the island as our backdrop. We've experienced Naxos in every season—winter, spring, and summer—each time deepening our connection to this beautiful place.
Through our explorations, we found our own special part of Naxos, nestled in a peaceful valley just 20 minutes from Chora and the sea. It’s here that we are building our own retreat centre, a dream we've cultivated for years. Having already run several successful retreats at other venues, we've seen incredible growth and felt the need for a permanent home where we can fully shape the experience around our vision.
For us, Naxos represents clarity of mind and soul, a sanctuary from the noise of the modern world. It’s a place to reconnect—with nature, with ourselves, and with the things that matter most. The island’s mountains and crystal-clear sea offer year-round opportunities for hiking, swimming, creative writing, cooking and simply being present in nature's embrace. This is where we find our peace, and we want to share that with you.
Over the years, we've also become experts in all the different ways to reach Naxos—whether by ferry, flight, or a combination of both. Each journey is an adventure in itself, and we love sharing these experiences with our guests. Depending on your needs and desires, we can guide you to choose the best route, making sure your journey is as enjoyable and seamless as your time on the island.
We would also love to introduce Nola to the Naxos Creative team. Literary Retreats are her inspired idea, and we have had the joy of collaborating closely with her. Her wonderful enthusiasm, deep love of Greece, and passion for literature have brought reading retreats to the forefront of our offerings—not only in Naxos, but also in the breathtaking mountains of Evritania.
